This Privacy Policy describes how Proven Trader LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you access or use the Proven Trader platform (“Platform”) at proventrader.com. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account, subscribe, or interact with the Platform, you may provide us with:

  • Account information: name, email address, and password
  • Billing information: payment card details (processed and stored by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers)
  • Communication preferences and support inquiries
  • Watchlists, scan configurations, and Platform preferences

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you access the Platform, we automatically collect certain technical information:

  • Device information: browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, and device identifiers
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, scan frequency, session duration, and interaction patterns
  • Log data: IP address, access times, referring URLs, and error logs
  • Session data: device fingerprint hashes used for session management and single-session enforcement
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5 below)

1.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information from third-party services integrated with the Platform:

  • Stripe: payment confirmation, subscription status, and billing event data (Stripe does not share your full card number with us)
  • Analytics providers: aggregated and anonymized usage statistics

1.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be transparent about what we do not collect:

  • We do not collect or store brokerage account credentials, trading account numbers, or portfolio holdings
  • We do not collect Social Security numbers, government-issued identification numbers, or tax information
  • We do not track or record your actual trading activity or brokerage transactions
  • We do not store the full content of your scans or backtest results on our servers beyond the session in which they are generated

2. How We Use Your Information

Platform Operations: To provide, maintain, and improve the Platform, process your scans and backtests, deliver signals, and manage your account and subscription.

Billing and Payments: To process subscription payments, manage billing cycles, handle refunds, and prevent payment fraud.

Security and Fraud Prevention: To enforce our single-session policy, detect unauthorized access, prevent credential sharing, and protect the integrity of the Platform and our intellectual property.

Communications: To send you transactional emails (account verification, billing receipts, subscription status changes, trial expiration reminders), and if you have opted in, to send promotional or educational content.

Analytics and Improvement: To understand how users interact with the Platform, identify popular features, diagnose technical issues, and improve the user experience.

Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

3.1 Service Providers

Stripe, Inc. — Payment processing. Stripe receives your payment card information directly and processes all transactions. Stripe’s privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data (https://stripe.com/privacy).

Supabase (or equivalent hosting provider) — Database hosting and authentication infrastructure. Hosts encrypted user account data.

Google Analytics (or equivalent) — Website analytics. Collects anonymized and aggregated usage data to help us understand Platform usage patterns. Google’s privacy policy governs their handling of this data (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

Resend / Postmark (or equivalent) — Transactional email delivery. Receives your email address to deliver account-related emails on our behalf.

Vercel / Netlify (or equivalent) — Frontend hosting and content delivery.

Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook/Instagram) — Advertising measurement and optimization. The Meta Pixel installed on the Platform sends anonymized event data (page views, sign-ups, and other conversion events) to Meta to measure advertising effectiveness and enable targeted advertising on Facebook and Instagram. Meta’s privacy policy governs their handling of this data (https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy). You may opt out through our cookie preferences tool or through Meta’s Ad Preferences settings.

3.2 Market Data Providers

The Platform fetches market data from third-party financial data providers. When processing scans and generating signals, our servers make API requests to these providers to obtain market data. These providers may log the IP address of our server but do not receive your personal information. The specific data providers used may change from time to time as we optimize for reliability, coverage, and performance. Users do not interact with data providers directly — all data is fetched, normalized, and cached by our servers before being delivered to the Platform.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

3.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on the Platform of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Specific retention periods include:

  • Account information: Retained for the duration of your account and for up to two (2) years after account closure for legal and audit purposes
  • Billing records: Retained for seven (7) years to comply with tax and accounting obligations
  • Usage and analytics data: Retained in anonymized/aggregated form indefinitely; identifiable usage data is retained for up to two (2) years
  • Session and security logs: Retained for ninety (90) days
  • Scan and backtest results: Processed in real-time and not retained beyond the active session unless cached temporarily for performance (cache expires within 24 hours)

You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us (see Section 11). We will process your request within thirty (30) days, subject to our legal retention obligations.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Essential Cookies: Required for Platform functionality, including authentication, session management, and security. These cookies cannot be disabled.

Analytics Cookies: Used to collect anonymized usage data to help us improve the Platform. You may opt out of analytics cookies through your browser settings or through the cookie preferences tool on the Platform.

Preference Cookies: Used to remember your settings and preferences (e.g., watchlists, display options).

Advertising and Tracking Cookies: We use third-party tracking technologies, including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, deliver targeted advertisements to potential users on third-party platforms, and understand how visitors interact with our Platform after viewing or clicking on an advertisement. These technologies may collect information about your browsing activity on our Platform and share it with advertising platforms including Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook/Instagram). You may opt out of advertising cookies through our cookie preferences tool, your browser settings, or through the advertising platform’s own opt-out mechanisms (e.g., Facebook Ad Preferences at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences). Note that opting out of advertising cookies does not prevent you from seeing ads — it prevents ads from being personalized based on your activity on our Platform.

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may impair Platform functionality.

6. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL protocols
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest in our databases
  • Secure password hashing (passwords are never stored in plaintext)
  • Role-based access controls limiting employee access to personal information
  • Regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments
  • Device fingerprinting and session monitoring to detect unauthorized access

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is not intended for use by individuals under the age of eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

  • Right to Delete: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions

  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or equivalent legislation, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Third-Party Links

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of such third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the revised Privacy Policy on the Platform and updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this document.
